E9324_150: Spot150 metal halide spotlight - 150w

E9324_150 Spot150 is a surface-mount uplight with adjustable stirrup bracket for mounting on walls or an optional ground spike. It uses a 150 watt double-ended metal halide lamp and polished reflector to project a 40 degree symmetric circular beam for uplighting larger trees: the central 40 degree beam is ideal for uplighting from beneath and is complemented by peripheral light spread for coverage of canopies. Where the shape of the tree falls within a 35-45 degree arc, use a Spot150 to cover up to 30m high, subject to density & colour of canopy & structure. If the tree has a wider spread, especially over 10m, use 2 or more Spot150 for a fuller effect. Where the outer canopy is dense and the inner canopy & structure is more open, uplight the central trunk & branches with a Spot150 and position a Wash150 asymmetric floodlight to illuminate the outer canopy. Look up through the tree you propose to light - if you can see up through the branches, then light will penetrate the canopy and structure as well. If not, use floodlights or asymmetric uplights to light the tree externally. Lighting large trees is a black art: test the position of uplights with a temporary wiring set-up before final installation. Lighting of trees with very open canopy may be brighter than desired - consider halogen spotlights with Powersaver 50w lamps as a lower power alternative. It uses a 70 watt double-ended metal halide lamp and polished reflector to project a 40 degree symmetric circular beam for uplighting larger trees: the central 40 degree beam is ideal for uplighting from beneath and is complemented by peripheral light spread for coverage of canopies. Where the shape of the tree falls within a 35-45 degree arc, use a Spot70 to cover up to 15-20m high, subject to density & colour of canopy & structure: perception of brightness varies between different people. If the tree has a wider spread, especially over 10m, use 2 or more Spot70 for a fuller effect. Use 150w models where the trees are further from the viewpoint to compensate for the distance. Where the outer canopy is dense and the inner canopy & structure is more open, uplight the central trunk & branches with a Spot70 and position a Wash70 asymmetric floodlight to illuminate the outer canopy.
