Surface-mount exterior garden lighting transformers
Surface-mount exterior garden lighting transformers range in size from 20 watts to 400 watts
The standard surface mount 12v weatherproof transformers range includes ratings from 20 to 400 watts. They are wire-wound (magnetic) transformers resin-potted into black polycarbonate boxes, normally to be mounted on a wall or post hidden behind planting and landscape features, or under decking in outbuildings. Each transformer has a 1m mains input cable and 60cm 12v output cable for connection to supply and low voltage cables using separate weatherproof junction boxes, the size of which can be selected according to the number of connections needed; cables and connections carrying different voltages must be segregated. Both cables exit the case on the same end, allowing neat connection into junction boxes below when mounted on a post. Transformers have a self-resetting thermal cut-off to protect against overload. All sizes fit on a 75mm/3” post, except the 400va size which firs a 100mm/4” post. T9599 galvanised mounting stakes are optional.
